Данная статья анализирует развитие, текущее состояние и будущие перспективы системы договорных органов ООН по правам человека. В статье рассматривается рост системы с 1969 года, её значительная роль в защите прав человека, а также вызовы, возникшие в результате расширения за последнее десятилетие. Кроме того, обсуждаются процесс реформ, проведённых на основе резолюции Генеральной Ассамблеи 68/268, и их результаты, проблемы с выполнением государствами обязательств по предоставлению отчётов, а также предложения по укреплению системы. Особое внимание уделяется значению процесса обзора 2020 года и роли академических исследований в реформировании системы. В заключение подчёркивается важность поэтапных реформ и глобальной оценки для будущего системы договорных органов.
